Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026.
These terms apply when you use Pegel. They're short on purpose.
1. What Pegel is
Pegel is a free job board operated by Maj Labs UG (haftungsbeschränkt). It aggregates job listings from public hiring feeds of Berlin-relevant tech companies. The site is operated from Germany. Full operator and contact details are on the Imprint page.
2. What Pegel isn't
Pegel is not an employer, a recruiter, a staffing agency, or an applicant tracking system. We don't process job applications. We don't take fees from employers. We don't endorse any specific employer, role, or company. We don't guarantee:
- That job listings are accurate
- That listings are still open by the time you apply
- That salary, language, visa, or other classifications are correct
- That the site is available at any specific time
3. How you may use Pegel
You may:
- Browse, search, and filter listings
- Read and share RSS feeds at /feed.xml and per-company at
/companies/[slug]/feed.xml - Use the curated companies dataset at /data/companies.json under CC0 1.0
- Subscribe to the email digest
- Submit company suggestions and removal requests
- Use the public API (
/api/v1/jobs,/api/v1/companies) within its limit of 60 requests per minute per IP
4. What you may not do
- Scrape the site beyond reasonable manual browsing or the rate-limited API
- Use the site or data to harass, dox, or attack employees of companies listed
- Submit false reports, fake suggestions, or impersonate other people
- Reverse-engineer, attempt to compromise, or otherwise attack Pegel's infrastructure
- Use the subscription email channel for purposes other than receiving the digest
- Republish job descriptions verbatim as if they were yours
5. Intellectual property
- The curated company list and job feed: licensed under CC0 1.0. Use freely.
- Job descriptions on listing pages: belong to the respective employers. Displayed verbatim under fair-use/citation principles. Not licensed for redistribution.
- The site design, code, blog posts, and other content created by Pegel: copyrighted to Maj Labs UG (haftungsbeschränkt), all rights reserved.
- Logos and trademarks of listed companies: belong to the respective companies. Used for identification purposes only.
6. Liability
Pegel is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing or classification.
Liability is limited to gross negligence and intent as permitted under German law. We are not liable for:
- Decisions you make based on information from this site
- Outcomes of job applications you submit to employers
- Inaccurate listings or classifications
- Service interruptions
- Loss of data caused by third-party sub-processors
Standard German Haftung limitations apply. Mandatory liability provisions under German law remain unaffected.
7. Changes to listings and data
We may add, remove, modify, or correct any listing or classification at any time. Listings come from third-party ATS feeds and may be removed when the source company removes them.
If you find a listing inaccurate, email pegel@mail.pegel.berlin. To request a company's removal, use the removal form linked from its company page. We respond as quickly as we can but make no specific response-time commitment.
8. AI-generated content
Pegel uses deterministic classifiers to extract structured fields from job descriptions. A scheduled third-party language model reviews some German-requirement cases that the deterministic pass cannot resolve. Low-confidence results remain empty.
Classifier outputs may contain errors. Evaluation fixtures and confidence thresholds reduce that risk, but we cannot guarantee zero errors. Do not rely on Pegel as the sole source of truth for any decision.
One-line summaries and per-job observation blocks are not active.
9. Subscriptions and emails
Email digest subscriptions are managed by you via the manage link in every digest. You can unsubscribe at any time. We don't store anything about you beyond what's listed in the privacy policy.
Each subscription runs for 6 months from confirmation. After 6 months it expires and we stop sending the digest, which keeps the list to people who still want it. If you unsubscribe or your subscription expires and you want to keep receiving the digest, you re-submit the form (which restarts the double opt-in process).
10. No payments
Pegel does not accept donations or payments from anyone: not from job seekers, not from employers, not from recruiters. The service is free to use and there is no paid tier.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, abuse the rate limits, attack our infrastructure, or otherwise misuse the service.
We may shut down Pegel entirely at any time. In that case, we provide at least 4 weeks of notice to email subscribers and a graceful wind-down procedure (see Methodology page).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by German law. Disputes are resolved in the competent court in Berlin.
If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
