About the Role Join us as a working student and help build an internal data platform for analyzing scientific publications in robotics and AI research. The platform brings together openly available information about publications and turns it into a clear, reliable picture of how the research field is developing. Your work will give our team a solid data foundation for understanding research trends, emerging topics, and where new momentum is building. You will design and develop software tools that collect, validate, store and visualize this information, and you will see your work used by colleagues in their daily work. What You Will Do Build and maintain an internal research data platform
- Design, implement and maintain an internal application for collecting, processing, validating, storing and visualizing publication data
- Develop components for automated data acquisition from open sources such as scholarly APIs, repositories and websites
- Implement backend services and data pipelines for reliable processing and integration
- Contribute to frontend components for accessing, managing and exploring the data
- Use AI-assisted development practices to build and extend the platform efficiently
- Implement automated and AI-supported validation, cleaning and quality assurance for the collected data
- Support the analysis of publication content, for example through text extraction or classification
- Keep the data consistent, traceable and usable across the whole system
- Develop dashboards and visualizations that make research trends and KPIs easy to explore
- Improve usability and functionality of the application together with its users
- Help to continuously enhance the platform
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Robotics or a related field
- Good knowledge of Python and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Knowledge of SQL and databases
- Experience with APIs, web scraping and workflow automation
- Experience with AI-based software development, such as working with AI coding assistants and integrating AI models into applications
- Experience with Git and Docker
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data quality
- Structured, independent working style and good communication skills
- Interest in robotics and AI as a research field, and the ability to read and understand scientific publications
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Familiarity with the robotics and AI research ecosystem
- Familiarity with scholarly data sources or publication management tools such as JabRef
- Experience with text processing or LLM-based data extraction
- Experience building dashboards or data visualizations
