Job description

Our Finance team ensures accurate accounting, tax compliance and transparent financial reporting across the Seven Senders group. To support our continued growth, we are expanding our Accounting team (consisting of a Team Lead, AR, AP and GL Accountants) with a Working Student Accounting. In this role, you will primarily support accounts payable and the monthly closing process. You will report to our Senior GL Accountant and work closely with our AP Accountant on a daily basis.

The Accounting team is part of a wider Finance function of colleagues across Accounting, Controlling and Compliance, who collaborate closely as one team. Many of the tasks in this role are recurring, so we are looking for someone who carries them out reliably and accurately while actively looking for ways to improve them. You bring a genuine interest in automation and process improvement, along with a strong willingness to learn.

Your main responsibilities

  • Register and process incoming supplier invoices in our accounting system, follow up on missing approvals
  • Process employee expense claims submitted via our expense tool and check them against our travel and expense policy
  • Maintain the accounts payable subledger, including vendor master data and open-item clearing
  • Support the monthly closing with general ledger account reconciliations and preparation of recurring postings
  • Take on ad-hoc tasks, including selected accounts receivable work such as allocating incoming payments, and help us improve and automate our accounting processes

This is what you need to succeed:

  • You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field, and can work up to 20 hours per week during the semester
  • You have a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping from coursework or practical experience. First hands-on experience, such as an internship, a previous working student role or a commercial apprenticeship, is a plus but not a must
  • You are confident in Excel. Experience with an ERP system is a plus
  • You work accurately, in a structured way and reliably, also on recurring tasks. You learn quickly and enjoy finding ways to make processes simpler or more automated
  • You speak fluent English. German skills are a plus

What we offer:

Flexible & Hybrid Work: Our office is at Alexanderplatz; we have a hybrid working model with flexible remote-office set-up and working hours. And if you wish, you can work from almost anywhere for up to 2 months per year.

Benefits: We offer company lunches twice per month, a corporate benefits platform, and German language courses.

Mission Zero: Climate-neutral and long-term impact. With our green initiatives, we are reaching climate neutrality for ourselves, and hopefully, we're inspiring the entire logistics sector to join us to create a sustainable future.

Vibrant Culture & Community:  We embody collaboration, open doors, and no-fuss results focus, and we are successful with our data-driven and efficient working approach. We like to celebrate and come together, and we strive for a workplace buzzing with energy and camaraderie, highlighted by regular team events, and company-wide celebrations.

Inclusive Environment: We value diversity and welcome all applicants regardless of ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability.

If you meet the above qualifications and are excited about the opportunity to join our team, we encourage you to submit your application today. Please scroll down to submit your English CV.
We look forward to hearing from you!
