We are looking for a highly motivated Director/VP of Product (f/d/m). You will report directly to company leadership, lead a small and senior product team, and work hand in hand with our SVP Tech in a collaborative, fast-moving, VC-funded startup.
Our revenue is concentrated in a small number of large, long-term commitments. What we sell is certainty: that a portfolio we design today still holds in five years. The platform is how that promise stays credible as the number of deals grows faster than the team. Owning whether that holds is the job.
Your mission
Own our product strategy and hold it against the business: where we win, where we lose, where margin can grow and where we can run more efficiently, tested against deal data, RFP outcomes, customer conversations and delivery obligations, and revised when the evidence says otherwise.
Act as a strategic counterpart to our leadership team on commercial mechanics: what drives revenue, how spread and gross margin actually behave, and what is really behind renewal and retention.
Lead and develop our product team across product management and design, from mid-level to principal. Set a high quality bar and build it with the team through hands-on review of the work.
Drive prioritization together with the product team: decide what gets built, dropped and sequenced based on data, make the trade-offs explicit to leadership, and grow each PM's ability to make these calls on their own.
Turn complex cross-functional workflows spanning sales, risk screening, sourcing, operations and finance into a platform that opens up new growth and makes the business we already have more efficient.
Partner closely with our SVP Tech on architecture, data and automation, and set the strategy and priorities for our data and automation work together. Bring enough technical depth to shape sequencing, cost and trade-offs together.
Spend real time with enterprise buyers and internal teams to understand the procurement and portfolio lifecycle first-hand.
What you need to succeed
Curiosity for a complex scientific, operational and financial domain, and the drive to build rare expertise in a market still being defined.
8+ years in product management, including 3+ years leading PMs and designers in complex B2B, marketplace, fintech, logistics, procurement or other regulated and operationally heavy environments.
Proven experience with products where the workflow is the product and part of the delivery is a human service.
Proven experience leading a team while staying hands-on, and growing PMs and Product Designers through coaching and structured feedback.
Exceptional analytical skills and a love for detail, with the ability to go from the data, the deal and the customer call to a clear strategy.
Skilled in building product systems and rituals that keep a team fast, decisions grounded in data, and delivery working as the company grows.
Clear communicator, comfortable building trust with C-level stakeholders and enterprise customers.
Based in Berlin, with a valid working permit in Germany.
