Hi there!
We keep growing and want to fill numerous tech roles: backend, frontend, fullstack and DevOps. You will build and own our tech recruiting from first outreach to signed contract. Along the way, you design recruiting formats for tech people, try new things and shape a lot. You work closely with our People & Organisation team and report directly to our Managing Director & CFO.
Your future role
Own recruiting for all engineering roles (Berlin, Potsdam and Singapore), from requirements clarification to offer.
Start every vacancy with a hiring manager briefing and turn it into a clear role profile and a job ad engineers want to read.
Source where developers really are (GitHub, LinkedIn, Discord, communities) and run first interviews with technical understanding.
Run first-round coding challenges yourself: guide candidates through the task, ask the right follow-up questions and evaluate results against clear criteria. You handle the technical pre-screening before our engineers step in.
Coordinate the further interview rounds with our engineering teams, collect feedback and drive fast, well-founded decisions. Our engineers make the final technical assessment.
Manage offers and negotiations, and create a candidate experience that sticks, even for rejections.
Represent D4L in the tech community (meetups, events) and continuously improve our process, including challenge setup, evaluation criteria and tools.
What you need to succeed
Experience in tech recruiting or hands-on coding experience (e.g. Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go) and the drive to move into recruiting. Career changers are welcome, we will support you.
Strongly preferred: the ability to read and assess code, so you can run and evaluate first coding challenges yourself
Solid understanding of modern tech stacks and the ability to read a GitHub profile
Initiative, creativity and joy in experimenting
Fluent German and English
Nice to have: experience with assessment tools (e.g. Codility, HackerRank, GitHub-based challenges), a network in the tech community
Why you will love working with us
Real tech depth: Broad expertise across our tech teams, lean structures and complex products offer years of exciting challenges and opportunities to grow
Purpose: We are a non-profit working in software development and health data, and every hour you work serves our shared vision of making the world healthier.
Strong international partnerships and proximity to HPI: An environment that attracts bright minds
30 days of annual leave, hybrid work (usually 3 office days per week in Berlin or Potsdam)
Mobility allowance (e.g. Deutschlandticket) and additional private health insurance
Generous learning & development budget and high-end IT equipment (e.g. Macs)
Salary: from approx. €60,000 gross/year (full-time), depending on experience and skills
