Job Description
In just four years, Pammys has grown to over 1.5 million customers and is one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies in Europe.Today, over 150 employees at our locations in Hamburg, Kiel, and our own 22,000 m² logistics center in Lensahn are working to turn Pammys into a global footwear brand.
With revenue in the mid-eight-figure range, several million euros in marketing investments per month, international growth, and product volumes in the millions, one thing is becoming increasingly important: creating processes that scale with our growth—efficient, reliable, and intelligently automated.
Do you have solid professional experience and an eye for spotting where processes are unnecessarily complex, slow, or error-prone? Do you think in terms of scalable systems—and want to make AI and automation a true growth driver for one of Europe’s most exciting D2C brands?
To achieve this, we’re looking for a Senior AI & Automation Engineer (m/f/d) who understands operational processes, transforms manual and error-prone workflows into stable end-to-end automations, and reliably implements, refines, and operates these solutions alongside the team. Automations are implemented both with and without AI agents, primarily using n8n. The focus of the role is on the operational implementation and continuous optimization of automation as a lever for efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Ready to take our processes to the next level? Then we look forward to receiving your application!
Your mission
- End-to-end responsibility for the setup, further development, and operation of complex process automation (primarily using n8n)
- Design, implementation, and operation of AI agents, including prompting, tool routing, and guardrails at the highest level
- Development and maintenance of API integrations with all relevant systems (Shopify, Personio, Slack, Meta, logistics, payment, etc.)
- Analysis of existing business processes and independent translation into scalable, technical solutions
- Development of high-quality dashboards (front-end) for internal departments
- Monitoring, debugging, and continuous optimization—with the goal of ensuring everything is always up to date and stable
- Data preparation and analysis (SQL, BigQuery) to identify opportunities for automation and optimization
- Close collaboration with business departments (including Customer Support, Finance, Operations, and Marketing) to improve processes sustainably
- Establishing structures, documentation, and standards so that everyone on the team can continue working
- Documenting automations, decisions, and best practices to ensure quality and scalability
Your profile
- 5–6 years of professional experience with automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, Workato, or comparable systems—or strong development skills with the ability to learn quickly
- In-depth understanding of API integrations (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth2)
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and solid experience in developing technical workflows and automations
- Proficiency with JSON, data structures, and complex data mapping
- Good knowledge of SQL (JOINs, aggregations, filters, data validation)
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI agents (including tool calls and routing)
- Strong debugging skills and a structured approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and responsibly with a high standard for quality
- Clear, precise communication—even with non-technical stakeholders
- Ideally, experience with Shopify, Personio, or Slack APIs
- Knowledge of BigQuery or other data warehouse solutions is a plus
- Knowledge of Python or experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) is desirable
- A basic understanding of e-commerce and operations processes is a plus
- You enjoy coming into the office and prefer face-to-face interaction
- Strong learning ability, a pragmatic approach, and a passion for AI, automation, and process-oriented thinking
- Leadership experience or experience building automation teams or departments is a plus
