About the Role
Statista is seeking a (Junior) PR & Communications Manager to support and shape communications activities across the EMEA region, with a clear focus on Germany and the UK. Reporting to the Head of PR & Communications, you will turn Statista’s data, products, and corporate stories into compelling narratives, proactive media relations, and relevant communications content.
This is a hands-on role for a professional at the beginning of their career. You will take ownership of day-to-day PR execution in Germany and the UK while working closely with an international PR & Communications team.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and proactive communicator who understands what makes a story relevant for journalists, enjoys turning complex topics into clear narratives, and is excited to grow their career in a fast-moving global company.
If you thrive on making things happen and want to make a real impact by empowering people with data to make fact-based decisions, this is your opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Execute day-to-day PR and communications activities across EMEA, with a clear focus on Germany and the UK – in alignment with business objectives and the global communications strategy.
Draft, edit, and tailor communications materials in German and English, including press releases, media pitches, op-eds, expert commentary, media alerts, Q&As, briefing documents, and key messages.
Help plan and execute always-on media relations activities to secure earned media coverage across Tier 1 and Tier 2 business, technology, trade, national, and podcast media; including monitoring of industry trends and news developments to identify proactive PR opportunities.
Support the planning and execution of integrated communications campaigns, including thought leadership and corporate announcements (e.g., product news, business developments).
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and relevant industry influencers across German and UK business, technology, national, and trade media.
Help position and prepare executives, industry experts, and researchers for media interviews, speaking engagements, and other external appearances to ensure impactful and consistent representation of Statista across the EMEA region.
Create and manage LinkedIn content for executives, translating business priorities, data, and thought-leadership topics into authentic, engaging executive communications.
Contribute to PR & communications work beyond the core Germany and UK remit where needed, including support for U.S. PR activities, and media outreach across other EMEA markets.
Help manage and coordinate PR-related partnerships and external speaking opportunities
Qualifications
2–3+ years of relevant professional experience in PR, corporate communications, brand communications, journalism, or a related field, gained in-house or at a PR/communications agency.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
Strong writing and editing skills, with experience producing high-quality press materials, media pitches, and other editorial content for different audiences.
Experience in media relations, including pitching stories that resonate with journalists, responding to media requests, and building relationships with journalists and editors.
A good understanding of the German media landscape; an initial understanding of the EMEA region, especially the UK media market and existing relationships with UK journalists are a plus.
Ability to identify compelling angles and turn complex information, products, and business topics into clear and relevant stories that resonate with media.
A proactive, collaborative, and reliable working style, with the confidence to engage constructively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within a global organization or agency
Experienced in analyzing data and data-led storytelling.
Experience supporting executive communications and thought leadership programs.
Curiosity about business, technology, AI, and data topics that shape public discussion.
Familiarity with AI-enabled communications is a plus.
