Who we are
JustWatch is the world’s leading movie and TV show streaming guide with over 25 million monthly users. We make it easy to see what’s new and popular on your favourite services or search for your favourite flick and see where it’s available. We currently list hundreds of legal streaming services in 139 countries.
Streaming data is the foundation of JustWatch. Everything from our website, TV and mobile apps to public APIs and partner data exports depends on the quality and freshness of our data. The Content team is a group of dedicated and passionate people working together to build the world’s largest collection of streaming information, powering experiences for millions of users and data partners around the world.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Content team and take ownership of our Partner Platform. The Content team is responsible for acquiring streaming availability, metadata, and other content data, and serving it to both internal and external consumers.
This role goes beyond maintaining APIs and exports. You'll be responsible for professionalizing our partner offerings and creating a best-in-class experience for our partners. That means shaping everything from unified public documentation for our partner products to evaluating and implementing a developer platform that enables self-service integrations.
You'll own the partner platform end-to-end, working closely with Engineering, Partnerships, and BI to understand partner needs, automate workflows, improve reliability, and build the foundation for a public developer hub.
Curiosity, drive, and passion are shared characteristics of everyone at JustWatch, and we look for these qualities in every person we hire. We value people who continuously challenge themselves and those around them to learn and improve. We also believe that "done is better than perfect," while maintaining a strong commitment to software craftsmanship and elegant, simple solutions.
What you will be doingOwn the technical direction of our Partner Platform, including APIs, data exports, and future self-service offerings.
Drive the professionalization of our partner products by creating a unified and well-documented partner experience.
Evaluate developer portal platforms and lead the implementation of a public developer hub for our partners.
Work closely with the Partnerships team to identify opportunities for automation, self-service capabilities, and new partner-facing features.
Collaborate with the BI team to publish and maintain clear documentation for partner data exports and APIs.
Take end-to-end responsibility for planning, building, operating, and scaling the APIs, data exports, and embeddable widgets used by our B2B partners.
Monitor partner exports, improve alerting and operational visibility, investigate issues, and continuously improve the reliability of the platform.
Respond to and resolve partner support requests, improving internal tooling and processes to reduce operational overhead over time.
Collaborate with other engineering teams on larger cross-functional initiatives.
3+ years of professional experience in backend engineering.
Strong experience with Go and building production backend services.
Experience designing, building, and operating APIs.
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
Bonus points if you've built developer platforms, self-service API products, public documentation, or developer portals.
A product mindset with the ability to work across Engineering, Product, Partnerships, and BI to deliver solutions that create value for both internal teams and external partners.
Fluent in English.
